Track Name: In The Evening
I made and I had dinner
For months at a time
It was an attempt to capture
A previous prime
The plastic and china pile high in the sink
And once my fingers prune
They turn a darker shade of pink

The night is up
Wondering about
Since the day is done
And the sun tapped out
Early to bed, early to rise
Doesnʼt make me too wise
Time to find some peace in my head
Once the towel is folded
And the timeʼs beyond ten

I stare at the spaces between the clock hands and watch them fall together again
Most days, I wander
In and out of touch
But I know when sadness comes
Not much is enough

Much space to fill
During these hours
Watching coffee cream thatʼs gone sour
Time to find peace in my head

Can it be true, that the ripeness of you
Will cause a decay
In those that do prey
But how can I rot now
When seeds have just sprout
Wanting a full bloom I must grow into
Track Name: As of Now
In the light, the dust does play
While youʼre away
And though I hear your sweet line I know itʼs my mind
Silenced the crooner all too soon
In mid-tune
And now I sing without guise
For a line

Turning to me for your exit
I bet I can best it
What is your Clever line to sever ways
The pause you take it throws me by surprise It burns still in my mind But who are we to blame for such demise
As of now, as of now, as of now

I lock the door as soon as it feels right
And wish you a goodnight
The answers they are still undefined
As of now, as of now, as of now
I have thought, I have prayed, I have waited
As of now, as of now, as of now
Who are we to blame by now

As of now, the bridge will burn
We long to return
To a place that doesnʼt last In anyoneʼs grasp
Track Name: At Night
Picked the dime off the floor
Heard the ping, heard it sing
But my eyes make a shift
To the screen playing a scene
Of a man and his songs
Vagabond, ramblinʼ on
Toting a bag and spade
Skipping rocks, seizing the day
How did I get so far from near
That man Leer with no kin, inviting outside in

Modern life is stagnating my heart
Cluttering the view of my own part
Confident, I go to sleep believing the sun will rise
Forgetting itʼs a risk I take at night

Picked the dime off the floor
Put it in, my coin tin
Moving along right on time
Something Iʼve tried to refine
But Leer has me seeing so clear
Who wants to bare, what was that of the hare

Modern life is stagnating my heart
Cluttering the view of my own part
Confident, I go to sleep believing the sun will rise
Forgetting itʼs a risk I take at night

Modern life is stagnating my heart
Cluttering the view of my own part
Confident, I go to sleep believing the sun will rise
Forgetting itʼs a risk I take at night
Track Name: Fall Awake
Oh say can you see
By the ways of me I fall awake in my sleep
When those summer days are burning, burning
Lately Iʼve been aching to hide
Adjusting to your eyes
Devising when and where I shouldnʼt bother
In my pail there is no water
And drinking gas seems better than waiting for rain
Can I wait slipping thumbs between hands
Mouthing dreams I dance
Finding ways to keep a dry romance
Clouded mind makes water like wine
Every stagger entwined
With a rage that dims down with the sun
A threat of peace, thy kingdom come
Draped across a web now spun
The view it robs me of
Defining light
And I canʼt see whatʼs wrong or right
Yet I slip through binds of silk
Without a fight

But is it me or fables coning
Heart with mind
Claiming the sheep all
Deaf and blind without
A shepherd
Of the highest crook

Shifting his gaze into
A look that sees through south-side moss
And clings to earth like tree on prairie

Oh can it be
What is left underneath
Will rise up to breathe
All my fantasies about release
Oh will I sigh clenching all I can find
From cake to pine
Hoarding all that claims to be divine
Losing what I think is mine
And losing such a gifted sight
Track Name: Paint
A common sight
On the east most street
Is a view of a man
Post rinse and repeat
Wandering eyes find him
Jules tries to hide it
Over her kitchen sink
Wanting no thoughts to think

Caught in a bind
To have some sort of life
Paint the grass more green
To hide whatʼs underneath

Between aisles
Of various cans
Aproned women
Speak of honey glazed hams
And whoʼs been invited
Why try and fight it
The truth of small town
Things will come back around

Caught in a bind
To have some sort of life
Paint the grass more green
To hide whatʼs underneath

Curlers heat
Jules stands by
A clean doormat
Waits outside
She takes back
Her wish of grace
Now the man
Has caught her gaze

Her eyes quickly fall
To a dish in the sink
Hoping the man Isnʼt too quick to think
She scrubs till the sunʼs gone
Then goes to her lawn
Lighting a cigarette
She gets her paint set

Caught in a bind
To have some sort of life
Paint the grass more green
To hide whatʼs underneath
Track Name: I Left Lousi
I left Lousi
When the saints came marching Into the streets, they played the songs That still fill my mind
Through this ride
To the north country side In a rusted truck bed
Flinging red dust into sky
I am not running from life Iʼm just shifting tide
Though my lips donʼt speak of leaving
Forgive me for no goodbye

You left Lousi In the month of August
Set to the wind by all
The people wanting your behind
And you ran, tall, dark and tan
Left with no word, so I found
Another man named Joe

He only knows what he knows
But heʼs kind and heʼs good
And I feel understood
But I still miss you

I miss Lousi
But I know, Iʼm crazy
Thinking the lady is gonna welcome me with open arms
Track Name: Priest Without A Cross
Silent the night says good morning
Itʼs been moving since dawn without warning
And my screen is still lit in forewarning
Get your hopes up
Start priming
When itʼs all about timing

There is so much to allot now
Since the sweat and my fever have burned out
And I search through the screen
To drown this drought
Get my hopes up, start priming
When itʼs all about timing

I just want to lick my lips
With the ease of your grace
That forgives you
When you have fallen low and heavy Iʼm a priest without a cross
A rock with no moss

Dragging along upon your side
Itʼs far from the vision of your bride
And the pavement is wet
Though itʼs inside
Arenʼt you worried, with this setup
That life wonʼt seem to let up
Cuz youʼve got all in your hand I wonder to understand

How chosen is the man
Whoʼs deciding, whatʼs abiding
To a world that had nothing hiding
I just want to lick my lips
With the ease of your grace
That forgives you
When you have fallen low and heavy Iʼm a priest without a cross
A rock with no moss
Silent the night says good morning
Itʼs been moving since dawn without warning
And my screen is still lit in forewarning
Get your hopes up
Start priming
When itʼs all about timing

I just want to lick my lips
With the ease of your grace
That forgives you
When you have fallen low and heavy
Iʼm a priest without a cross
A rock with no moss
